Kate  Bates

Kate Bates paints in bold shape and vivid colour, drawing her botanical subjects (tulips, magnolias, daffodils) from the family farm in Dyrham. Each piece is a study in vibrancy, rooted in the landscape she loves.
Alongside her studio practice, Kate is a prolific art teacher, drawing on twenty-five years in education to support exam coursework, run workshops and champion the home education community. She welcomes commissions for statement pieces, curates exhibitions, most recently Tulip Mania at Dyrham Park, and paints murals in unlikely places. Across the West Country, she's a familiar face on the exhibition, art trail and fair circuit.
